Responsibilities
- Lead the architecture, development, and optimisation of the enterprise integration engine and real-time data hub.
- Design, build, and publish governed FHIR APIs for patient- and clinician-facing applications, including secure write-back to clinical systems.
- Develop, test, and deploy HL7 v2.x, FHIR, and CDA interfaces and migrate legacy point-to-point feeds to reusable event-driven integration patterns.
- Lead technical oversight of outsourced projects through code reviews and architectural audits.
- Design failover and disaster recovery protocols and support the 99.99% uptime standard for mission-critical feeds.
- Provide technical mentorship and career coaching to Integration Specialists.
Requirements
- 10+ years of healthcare integration experience, including at least five years in a senior or lead developer role.
- Expert proficiency in FHIR, HL7 v2.x, CDA, and API Management using REST/JSON.
- Experience with event-driven and streaming integration patterns as well as traditional interface engines.
- Mastery of healthcare middleware and programming languages.
- Experience overseeing technical teams or vendor delivery in high-acuity clinical environments.
- Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- HL7 FHIR Level 2+ or cloud data engineering certifications in Azure or AWS are highly regarded.
