Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain software systems primarily using Python, SQL, Bash, JavaScript, and related technologies.
- Build interactive data reporting and visualizations using Plotly Dash, D3.js, AG Grid, and other appropriate tools.
- Translate business data requirements into maintained Apache Airflow DAGs.
- Expand and maintain Django web applications, Plotly Dash visualizations, and Python-based ETL applications.
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, stakeholders, and internal clients to deliver software solutions.
- Write clean, efficient, well-documented code and follow software development, testing, and security best practices.
- Review systems, implement features, optimize performance, and identify automation opportunities.
- Support performance optimization, security testing initiatives, architecture documentation, and flow charts.
- Work with Linux-based infrastructure and services.
- Lead 2–3 junior Python developers.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 8–10+ years of experience in data engineering and software development using Python, including Django, and SQL.
- Experience building and maintaining ETL data pipelines and data visualizations.
- Strong understanding of software development principles, version control, continuous integration, testing, and Agile methodologies.
- Experience integrating front-end and back-end technologies such as Django and FastAPI.
- Experience creating and maintaining architecture documentation and flow charts.
- Experience working with Linux-based infrastructure and services in a corporate setting.
- Experience with secure coding principles and security best practices.
- Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, prioritization, and deadline-management skills.
- Knowledge of Java is a plus, and experience with charting libraries such as Dash and Plotly is beneficial.
