Responsibilities
- Own and evolve foundational Android infrastructure including modularization and app lifecycle systems.
- Design and deliver shared libraries and frameworks for feature teams.
- Drive Cash App's Android architecture forward with high-leverage decisions.
- Invent and open source thoughtful Android platform technology.
- Develop rapid experimentation processes to support AI-driven iteration.
- Build observability and performance tooling for engineers.
- Partner with iOS, Web, and backend engineers for consistent cross-platform experiences.
- Evolve the use of AI within Cash App's Android engineering organization.
- Identify and act on opportunities where AI can enhance workflows.
- Introduce and evaluate emerging AI development tools.
- Lead architecture and design reviews across teams.
- Mentor engineers to raise the technical ceiling of the Android community.
- Align platform investments with team needs through collaboration.
Requirements
- 10+ years of Android development experience with a proven track record.
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Experience in building systems for engineers with a focus on developer experience.
- Strong leadership skills with experience driving large-scale technical initiatives.
- Proficiency in AI-native development practices and tools.
- Exceptional communication skills for technical discussions.
- Deep expertise in Android technologies including Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
- Strong systems thinking to identify and solve complex problems.
