Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain Python scripts for complex, rate-limited, or poorly documented third-party API integrations.
- Extract, parse, and flatten nested JSON, XML, flat-file, and log data for downstream data modeling.
- Automate infrastructure, monitoring, maintenance, and alert-remediation tasks in collaboration with Database Administrators and Cloud Engineers.
- Write and optimize PySpark transformations in Microsoft Fabric notebooks for large-scale data processing.
- Build lightweight internal tools, command-line interfaces, and microservices for the Data Operations team.
- Version-control, test, document, and integrate custom scripts into automated deployment pipelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2–4+ years of professional software development experience with a primary focus on Python.
- Strong experience with web services and APIs, including authentication, pagination, and rate limiting.
- Experience parsing and manipulating JSON, XML, and CSV using Python libraries such as Pandas, Requests, and JSON.
- Familiarity with PySpark and distributed data processing in Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, or Synapse.
- Solid understanding of SQL for querying and validating relational database data.
- Proficiency with Git and code suitable for integration into CI/CD pipelines.
- Preferred certifications include Professional Python Programmer PCPP1, Microsoft Azure Developer Associate AZ-204, and Databricks Certified Associate Developer for Apache Spark.
