Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and support agentic AI applications and multi-agent systems on Microsoft Azure.
- Develop production-grade AI-enabled services and APIs in Python and C#/.NET, integrating agents and models with enterprise applications and data sources.
- Apply prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation, agent orchestration, tool-calling, and function-calling patterns.
- Implement guardrails, content safety, evaluation, monitoring, observability, governance, and responsible AI controls.
- Integrate Azure-native services and CI/CD pipelines, and support LLMOps practices including versioning, automated evaluation, and deployment pipelines.
- Act as a technical voice for architects, product owners, and client stakeholders; translate business problems into solution designs and explain technical trade-offs.
- Own solutions across the full lifecycle, account for compliance and audit requirements, and provide production support.
- Mentor and pair with less experienced colleagues.
Requirements
- Production experience building and supporting live LLM-based applications on Azure, beyond proof-of-concept work.
- Strong production coding experience in Python and/or C#/.NET, including API and backend service development.
- Practical depth in retrieval-augmented generation, including chunking, embedding strategy, retrieval tuning, and groundedness and accuracy evaluation.
- Client-facing delivery experience and the ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-engineering stakeholders.
- Experience or developing breadth across Semantic Kernel, LangGraph, and AutoGen for agent orchestration.
- Judgement in selecting proprietary and open-weight models based on cost, latency, and quality.
- Experience with multi-agent systems, containerisation, orchestration, vector search, LLMOps, MLOps, automated evaluation, data privacy, security, compliance, responsible AI, and GDPR considerations is relevant.
- Eligibility to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance, including continuous UK residence for the last five years and satisfaction of other clearance requirements.
