Base Salary
$150k - $262k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, deploy, and operate components and services within the cloud-native data platform.
- Lead well-scoped projects by converting requirements and rough ideas into technical designs and production implementations.
- Collaborate with senior, staff, and principal engineers on platform architecture and engineering standards.
- Improve reliability, scalability, and operability through testing, instrumentation, runbooks, and on-call participation.
- Build operators, controllers, automation, and platform services used by other teams.
- Onboard and mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design feedback, and pairing.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software development experience with a PhD, 5+ years with a Master's degree, 8+ years with a Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience building, deploying, and operating workloads on Kubernetes.
- Experience with at least one major hyperscaler, including core compute, networking, and IAM primitives: AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Strong programming skills in Go or another systems language with willingness to work primarily in Go.
- Track record of delivering complex features or services as a key contributor.
- Working knowledge of containers, CI/CD, GitOps-based delivery, and infrastructure-as-code.
- Ability to critically evaluate or integrate AI into engineering work, workflows, coding, or operational tooling.
- Preferred experience with Kubernetes controllers or the operator pattern, container networking or service mesh, workload identity, mTLS, secrets management, and observability.
