$202k - $224k/yr
Responsibilities
- Set technical vision and architecture while influencing roadmaps across multiple teams and partner organizations.
- Evaluate architectural trade-offs and translate requirements into effective design documents.
- Lead multi-quarter projects and complex initiatives across team boundaries.
- Own security platform components including frameworks, tooling, orchestration, observability, guardrails, and scalable backend services.
- Drive cross-organizational alignment, identify gaps, define solutions, and deliver production-ready implementations.
- Solve complex distributed-systems and operational challenges under heavy traffic while improving reliability, performance, and operational excellence.
- Plan and manage tasks, resources, and timelines to deliver work accurately and on time.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a Software Engineer.
- Significant experience designing, building, and operating large-scale, high-availability distributed systems in production.
- Ability to lead multi-quarter projects, resolve ambiguous technical problems, and drive complex initiatives to completion across team boundaries.
- Deep expertise in backend infrastructure, including microservices architecture, distributed databases, caching strategies, and asynchronous messaging systems.
- Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Preferred: Domain expertise in authentication, authorization, access management, IAM, PKI, or identity systems.
- Preferred: Experience influencing backend engineering strategy and architecture across organizational and functional boundaries.
- Preferred: Experience using AI and ML to create efficiency through automation.
Benefits
- Base salary range for San Francisco-based roles is USD $202,000 to USD $224,000 per year.
