Responsibilities
- Implement the foundational elements of the studio’s Digital Asset Management system and support game teams’ creative tooling ecosystems.
- Develop, maintain, and architect robust, scalable tools for content creation workflows.
- Lead technical execution for multi-month to year-plus initiatives and uphold engineering standards across teams.
- Evaluate and operate AI-assisted engineering tools to improve code quality, reliability, security, performance, and developer productivity.
- Collaborate with artists, discipline leads, production, design, UX, infrastructure, QA, gameplay engineering, and other stakeholders.
- Champion tooling best practices and identify new internal and external developer tooling opportunities.
- Provide documentation and training for new tools and workflows.
- Communicate technical trade-offs, risks, and solutions while helping teams navigate ambiguity.
Requirements
- 6+ years of professional software engineering experience, including delivery of live or shipped products at scale.
- 3+ years of experience working on game development tools.
- Experience supporting AI/ML platforms, inference services, model-serving systems, data pipelines, or GPU-backed workloads.
- Experience with Unreal Engine and awareness of upcoming Epic tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Go, C++, and C#, with familiarity with Java and TypeScript.
- Knowledge of public cloud technologies including AWS RDS, Amazon S3, and Amazon EC2.
- Experience working with large game teams and large codebases.
- Ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders and communicate with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Preferred qualifications include Digital Asset Management experience, desktop application experience, and professional Unreal Engine 5 tools experience.
