Senior Unreal Engineer - Porting AA UE5 Game to Cloud Streaming (Remote, Europe)

Responsibilities

  • Adapt and stabilize the game for the Linux-based cloud streaming platform.
  • Profile and optimize CPU, GPU, memory, startup time, loading, and level transitions.
  • Build cloud-streamed controller input and integrate platform SDK functionality into Unreal Engine.
  • Support cloud-native save and progression services.
  • Diagnose threading, synchronization, frame-pacing, long-session stability, and memory-leak issues.
  • Build automated testing and diagnostic tooling.
  • Investigate unfamiliar systems, identify technical risks early, and communicate trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with engineering, technical art, UX, QA, production, platform teams, and external development partners.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of professional game development experience on large or complex projects.
  • At least 4 years of hands-on Unreal Engine development using C++.
  • Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine architecture, including gameplay subsystems, rendering, threading, and asset loading.
  • Experience debugging and extending large codebases.
  • Strong experience with Unreal Insights for CPU timing, thread analysis, memory profiling, and load-time profiling.
  • Experience integrating third-party SDKs into Unreal Engine.
  • Experience writing clear, maintainable, testable production code.
  • Experience with Perforce or similar version-control systems.
  • Strong English communication skills for explaining technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Preferred: Unreal Engine 5.5 or later, Unreal Engine on Linux, Linux development and diagnostics, AAA or high-quality AA PC or console shipping experience, CI/CD for Unreal Engine, GPU profiling tools such as RenderDoc, IPC and communication mechanisms, platform services and certification workflows, and HTML/JavaScript controller or WebView/WebApp integrations.
