Responsibilities
- Adapt and stabilize a high-quality AA Unreal Engine 5 game for a Linux-based cloud streaming platform.
- Profile and optimize CPU, GPU, memory, startup time, loading, level transitions, and frame pacing.
- Build cloud-streamed controller input and integrate platform SDK functionality into Unreal Engine.
- Support cloud-native save and progression services.
- Diagnose threading, synchronization, memory leaks, and long-session stability issues.
- Build automated testing and diagnostic tooling.
- Investigate unfamiliar systems, flag technical risks early, and communicate technical trade-offs to stakeholders and development partners.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional game development experience on large or complex projects.
- At least 4 years of hands-on Unreal Engine development using C++, including memory management, concurrency, and performance-aware programming.
- Strong knowledge of Unreal Engine architecture, including gameplay subsystems, rendering, threading, and asset loading.
- Experience debugging and extending a large codebase and integrating third-party SDKs into Unreal Engine.
- Strong Unreal Insights experience covering CPU timing, thread analysis, memory, and load-time profiling.
- Experience writing clear, maintainable, testable production code.
- Experience with Perforce or a similar version control system.
- Ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders in spoken and written English.
- Preferred: Unreal Engine 5.5 or later, professional Unreal Engine support on Linux, Linux development and diagnostics, a shipped AAA or high-quality AA PC or console title, Unreal Engine CI/CD, Epic's low-level memory tracker, RenderDoc or comparable GPU profiling tools, IPC and communications technologies, platform services and certification workflows, and HTML/JavaScript controller or WebView/WebApp integrations.
