Base Salary
$135k - $325k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate scalable cloud-native services and shared platform capabilities.
- Define and execute the technical roadmap for a platform supporting batch and real-time workloads.
- Build and improve capabilities for data discovery, lineage, governance, ingestion, cost management, and performance.
- Develop APIs, frameworks, and platform features that simplify data-intensive application development and dataset onboarding.
- Use automated testing, operational tooling, monitoring, continuous integration, and resilient cloud architectures to improve quality and reliability.
- Troubleshoot and support production systems to maintain stability and minimize disruption.
- Collaborate with engineering and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable technical solutions.
- Partner with cloud infrastructure and security teams to ensure secure, reliable, enterprise-aligned platform capabilities.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- At least 5 years of experience designing and building software applications, developer platforms, or distributed systems in production environments.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals, including object-oriented design, system design, testing, and code quality.
- Fluency in at least one modern programming language such as Python, C#, Java, Go, or a similar language.
- Experience building and deploying applications and services in AWS or another major cloud environment.
- Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.
- Experience designing and deploying APIs and client libraries using tools such as OpenAPI, FastAPI, or similar frameworks.
- Familiarity with event-driven or streaming architectures using Kafka, Kinesis, or similar messaging systems.
- Ability to learn new technologies quickly and apply them to complex business and engineering challenges.
- Experience partnering with technical and business stakeholders to gather requirements, clarify priorities, and translate business needs into scalable software solutions.
- Strong communication skills and experience influencing stakeholders while balancing business and technical considerations.
