Responsibilities
- Own the architecture and delivery of scalable backend and platform solutions for the global DataHub.
- Design, build, and operate distributed systems using cloud-native technologies.
- Drive technical leadership through architecture discussions, code reviews, engineering standards, and mentoring.
- Collaborate with global stakeholders to expand data integrations and data capabilities.
- Lead incident resolution, postmortems, reliability improvements, and observability efforts.
- Promote testing, CI/CD, safe deployment practices, security-by-design, vulnerability remediation, and compliance.
- Contribute to inner-source initiatives and global engineering alignment.
- Deliver full-stack functionality with Java and Angular or React when needed.
Requirements
- Strong experience in backend engineering, distributed systems, or platform engineering.
- Expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and distributed systems fundamentals.
- Strong knowledge of system design, performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Hands-on experience with AWS and Kubernetes/EKS or ECS.
- Experience with unit, integration, and acceptance automation testing and CI/CD deployment practices.
- Familiarity with OpenAPI, Jenkins, SonarQube, Veracode or Checkmarx, and event-streaming tools such as Kafka.
- Ability to provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and influence architectural decisions.
- Experience working in global, distributed environments and advanced English proficiency.
- Familiarity with draw.io or similar engineering tools and AI-native tools such as Cursor, Claude, MCP, and agentic engineering practices.
- Experience with Angular or React, TypeScript, infrastructure as code, advanced AWS tuning, or advanced AI and automation tools is preferred.
