Base Salary
$258k - $367k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define the target architecture for shared data models, data contracts, and the semantic layer.
- Establish standards for metric definitions, ownership, versioning, automatic checks, and data lineage.
- Guide domain teams in publishing owned data products with clear schemas and service levels.
- Build prototypes, review designs, and solve difficult problems hands-on in the data stack.
- Partner with Product, Finance, Compliance, Platform Engineering, and domain leads across time zones.
- Set direction across more than one team and influence teams without direct authority.
- Mentor engineers and raise the quality of design reviews.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering or data architecture.
- Experience operating at Staff scope and setting direction for more than one team.
- Experience designing shared data models, data contracts, or semantic layers used by many teams.
- Ability to drive ambiguous initiatives independently through completion.
- Ability to influence other teams through data, prototypes, and trust without formal authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with engineers, finance professionals, and executives.
- Ability to collaborate with Engineering, Product, Finance, Compliance, and other stakeholders across time zones.
