Responsibilities
- Build and ship features across data models, APIs, and user interfaces.
- Split a monolith into services by defining boundaries, planning data migrations, and rolling out changes without downtime.
- Modernize legacy code incrementally and write design documents for non-trivial changes.
- Own production operations for shipped features, including monitoring, alerts, and fixes.
- Design schemas, write efficient queries, and build operational reports.
- Write tests, review code, mentor colleagues, and collaborate with product and QA.
Requirements
- Solid experience building and running production software at a senior level.
- Strong PHP skills and the ability to pick up Go and Node.js as needed.
- Experience with relational database schema design, query performance, and live-data migrations.
- Experience incrementally improving a large legacy codebase.
- Daily use of agentic AI coding tools, including the ability to explain planning, trust, and verification practices.
- Strong attention to correctness when handling money, commissions, and reporting.
- Ability to write clear design documents, tickets, and pull request descriptions.
- Direct communication skills with product, QA, and non-technical stakeholders.
- Working spoken and written English.
- Preferred experience with production monolith decomposition, Kubernetes, Cloudflare, LLM-backed features, applied machine learning, payments, fintech, iGaming, large-scale web scraping, anti-bot handling, or proxies.
