Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, performant, and reliable backend systems.
- Participate in architecture definitions and technical design, validating solutions through metrics and experimentation when needed.
- Own engineering initiatives related to platform maintenance, observability, cost optimization, compliance, and internal tooling.
- Develop, test, and document software solutions following engineering best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and design reviews.
- Collaborate with Software Engineers, Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Designers.
- Analyze and clarify technical requirements and participate in intermediate-complexity design activities.
- Contribute to the stability, performance, and continuous evolution of existing platforms.
Requirements
- Advanced conversational English is required.
- At least 4 years of professional software development experience focused on backend engineering.
- Strong experience with Java and/or Kotlin, Spring Boot, AWS, MongoDB Atlas or similar NoSQL databases, Aurora MySQL or equivalent relational databases, and GraphQL APIs using Netflix DGS.
- Experience building and operating highly scalable, performant, and available distributed systems.
- Experience working in cloud-native environments.
- Preferred experience with event-driven architectures using Kafka and/or Amazon SQS, Terraform, microservices, REST and gRPC APIs, AI-assisted coding tools, observability, monitoring, and operational optimization.
