Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, test, deploy, and operate services and tools that accelerate OCI compute and network capacity growth.
  • Deliver reliable and scalable capabilities for the physical asset lifecycle in collaboration with engineering and partner teams.
  • Investigate issues across the stack, resolve root causes, and improve service reliability, performance, and operational readiness.
  • Apply distributed-systems and cloud-infrastructure principles to build resilient production services.
  • Build and maintain service telemetry, dashboards, alarms, and runbooks.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and incident response, using operational learnings to drive durable improvements.
  • Contribute to technical designs, architecture discussions, code reviews, and engineering standards.
  • Communicate technical progress, risks, and trade-offs while helping build consensus.
  • Provide technical mentorship and support to junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of professional software development experience, including at least 1 year designing, delivering, or operating scalable cloud-native distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in one or more high-level programming languages, preferably Go or Java, with working knowledge of scripting or automation languages such as Python.
  • Experience contributing to products from inception through the full software development lifecycle.
  • Understanding of microservice design patterns, service-to-service communication protocols, and highly reliable service design.
  • Familiarity with observability practices including dashboards, service metrics, alarms, and operational health indicators.
  • Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and programming paradigms.
  • Experience with production operations, safe deployment practices, on-call rotations, and incident troubleshooting.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across functions and communicate through design documents, proposals, architecture diagrams, and presentations.
  • Preferred: MS or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Preferred: experience with cloud-native control-plane or data-plane solutions, complex distributed environments, and physical asset lifecycles in cloud-scale data centers.
  • Preferred: experience with Data Center Infrastructure Management systems, Kubernetes, containerized workloads, and Terraform.
  • Preferred: familiarity with service discovery, secret storage, containerization, and software-defined networking.
