Responsibilities
- Advise customers on the architecture, design, and implementation of multicore and multithreaded systems.
- Provide customer guidance and deliver custom engineering services based on job orders.
- Develop and port drivers and perform other embedded software development activities.
- Debug systems using instrumentation, trace logging, core analysis, code reviews, JTAG, and related tools.
- Analyze unfamiliar code to identify architectural gaps, risks, and issues.
- Improve boot-time and runtime performance, including data throughput.
- Develop prototype and demonstration systems for customer use.
- Participate in product reviews, design and enhancement projects, and testing.
- Follow workplace operating and environmental, health, and safety procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering.
- Significant professional experience in embedded software development.
- Architectural design experience with QNX OS or its components, or kernel development experience with Linux or another POSIX-based operating system.
- Extensive hands-on experience programming in C.
- Experience writing software for ARM and x86 processor architectures.
- Prior driver development experience.
- Experience with real-time operating systems and multithreaded programming is preferred.
- Strong communication, presentation, organizational, collaboration, and customer-facing skills.
- Willingness to learn new operating system technologies and their applications.
