Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable, highly available, fault-tolerant infrastructure for web services and ML workloads.
- Operate production systems, troubleshoot issues, administer users, extract data, and scale infrastructure.
- Implement monitoring, alerting, logging, and incident response systems to improve performance and minimize downtime.
- Maintain CI/CD, containerization, orchestration, and operational workflows for APIs and large training runs.
- Improve infrastructure automation, deployment, and orchestration using Kubernetes, Flux, and Terraform.
- Collaborate with AI/ML researchers to support safe and reproducible model-training experiments.
- Build a cloud-agnostic abstraction layer between scientific workloads and infrastructure.
- Develop automation scripts, APIs, web applications, dashboards, and other reliability tooling.
- Participate in on-call rotations, conduct root cause analysis, document procedures, and contribute to open-source projects and technical publications.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in a DevOps or SRE role.
- Strong experience with cloud computing and highly available distributed systems.
- Experience with production troubleshooting, root cause analysis, on-call rotations, reliability KPIs, observability, alerting, and SLAs.
- Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, containerization, and orchestration tools.
- Knowledge of Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog, or similar monitoring and observability tools.
- Familiarity with Terraform or CloudFormation and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Proficiency in Python, Go, or Bash, along with software development best practices.
- Strong understanding of networking, security, and system administration concepts.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Experience in AI/ML environments, HPC systems, Slurm, or AI-oriented solutions such as Fluidstack, CoreWeave, and Vast is preferred.
