Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain storage and file-system virtualization components across Windows and Linux client, server, and cloud systems.
- Conceive, design, and implement storage virtualization features with internal and external partners.
- Analyze the performance of storage designs and implementations in light of evolving storage technologies.
- Own the software engineering process from design and development through code review, validation, delivery, and maintenance.
- Author documentation and tools, participate in broader design discussions and code reviews, and support the growth of less experienced engineers.
- Build knowledge of the storage ecosystem and apply it to new feature development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 7+ years of technical engineering experience with coding in C or C++.
- Alternatively, a master's degree and 6+ years of technical engineering experience, or equivalent experience, may qualify.
- At least 3 years of kernel and device-driver development experience in Linux or Windows.
- At least 4 years of systems programming experience in Linux or Windows.
- At least 7 years of industry experience with C/C++.
- Experience with storage in Kubernetes, storage performance and functionality analysis, storage virtualization, block storage, and file systems.
- Familiarity with storage technologies, RAID, caching, tiering, thin provisioning, operating systems, systems software, computer architectures, and networking.
- Experience with file systems, databases, key-value stores such as RocksDB, and ACID transactions is preferred.
- Ability to meet Microsoft Cloud and other applicable security screening requirements.
- Strong coding, debugging, testing, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with a record of delivering results across multiple ship cycles.
