Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, maintenance, and operation of cloud-native infrastructure services.
- Build and operate Kubernetes-based infrastructure for scalable, secure, and reliable production workloads.
- Develop platform capabilities with Kubernetes, Conductor, Istio, Kong, and related open-source cloud-native technologies.
- Design and operate infrastructure services on Microsoft Azure.
- Drive automation, tooling, deployment guidance, runbooks, and operational improvements.
- Improve observability through logging, metrics, tracing, dashboards, alerting, and service health monitoring.
- Lead troubleshooting, incident response, root-cause analysis, and production issue resolution.
- Partner with product engineers, security teams, architects, and engineering leaders on platform capabilities.
- Make technical decisions balancing scalability, performance, security, reliability, maintainability, and delivery speed.
- Write maintainable code and configuration for infrastructure services, automation, and platform tooling.
- Mentor engineers and help establish engineering and operational standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional software engineering, infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, DevOps, or cloud engineering experience.
- Significant experience developing, maintaining, and operating production infrastructure or platform services.
- Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, cloud-native infrastructure, and Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with service mesh, API gateways, workflow orchestration, container orchestration, infrastructure as code, GitOps, automation, monitoring, and CI/CD systems.
- Understanding of networking, security, identity, access control, and distributed systems.
- Experience troubleshooting complex production issues across infrastructure, services, networking, data stores, and distributed systems.
- Ability to lead technical discussions, influence infrastructure design, mentor engineers, and collaborate effectively.
- Preferred experience includes C#, .NET, Go, Python, PowerShell, Bash, observability practices, high-scale production infrastructure, on-call support, open-source contributions, and large-scale data, distributed systems, analytics, healthcare, or regulated platforms.
