Responsibilities
- Manage and allocate software system requirements for developmental systems involving multiple subcontractors.
- Develop and manage software specifications, Interface Control Documents, test requirements, and test plans.
- Conduct trade studies, recommend technologies, estimate engineering effort, and support Earned Value accountability.
- Monitor technical performance, risks, opportunities, engineering processes, and program metrics.
- Manage software engineering suppliers, including Statements of Work, requirements, and process compliance.
- Provide status reports, technical investigations, customer support, business development assistance, and engineering leadership.
- Travel domestically and internationally for short durations as required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least five years of experience in a software engineering, integration, or development environment.
- Eligible for professional registration as a Professional Engineer in the province of practice.
- Experience with one or more of training management systems, network architectures, command-and-control or situational-awareness applications, and modeling and simulation applications.
- Experience managing requirements using DOORS and familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering and Universal Modeling Language.
- Strong project engineering management, forecasting, budgeting, communication, presentation, leadership, and mentoring skills.
- Ability to complete a criminal background check and obtain or maintain Government of Canada security clearance and applicable controlled-goods clearances.
- Bilingual English and French is an asset.
