Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain AI-powered applications and solutions for banking business challenges.
- Build and optimize Generative AI workflows using prompt engineering, orchestration frameworks, RAG capabilities, AI agents, reusable skills, and intelligent automation.
- Design and deploy AI agents using AWS AgentCore for scalable automation, process optimization, and enterprise AI solutions.
- Translate business and user requirements into technical specifications, scalable solutions, and documented software implementations.
- Collaborate on solution architecture, APIs, microservices, system integrations, and cloud-based deployments.
- Perform testing, performance optimization, monitoring, debugging, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance, and issue resolution.
- Ensure code and configurations meet security, logging, error-handling, performance, governance, privacy, and non-functional requirements.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies and assess their impact on systems, processes, data, risk, and business value.
- Follow software development lifecycle, release management, version control, Agile delivery, and enterprise technology standards.
- Use GitHub Copilot and JIRA Rovo to accelerate development and improve developer productivity.
- Contribute to responsible AI practices and apply BMO’s Risk Management Framework and applicable policies, laws, and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of experience in software development, application engineering, or related technical roles.
- Strong programming, software development, engineering practices, and design-pattern experience.
- Experience developing AI-powered applications using Large Language Models and Generative AI frameworks.
- Experience with AI agents, RAG architectures, vector databases, embeddings, knowledge retrieval, prompt engineering, grounding, token optimization, evaluation, performance tuning, and cost optimization.
- Knowledge of Model Context Protocol and experience integrating AI solutions with enterprise systems, tools, and data sources.
- Experience designing, consuming, and integrating RESTful APIs with Swagger/OpenAPI specifications.
- Experience with cloud computing environments, cloud-native application development, microservices, APIs, and system integrations.
- Skills in SQL, Prompt Engineering, and JIRA Rovo.
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies, Quality Assurance, Test Driven Development, secure software development, Responsible AI, governance, and enterprise technology standards.
- Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and business-requirement translation skills.
- Nice-to-have experience with Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, Microsoft Copilot Studio, or similar AI platforms.
- Nice-to-have Java experience and experience with AI agents, multi-agent systems, conversational AI, vector databases, semantic search, AI governance, model evaluation, AI observability, or regulated-industry GenAI solutions.
