Responsibilities
- Design, build, configure, test, deploy, and support inbound and outbound Workday integrations across HR, payroll, benefits, time, absence, workforce, security, reporting, and vendor systems.
- Translate business and functional requirements into technical integration designs, data mappings, transformation logic, test plans, deployment plans, and support documentation.
- Monitor scheduled and event-driven integrations, review alerts, triage incidents, analyze errors, validate file delivery, and communicate with stakeholders.
- Troubleshoot integration failures, data discrepancies, authentication issues, file transmission errors, and vendor defects; perform root cause analysis and implement sustainable fixes.
- Implement secure data exchange using integration system users, domain security, security groups, PGP encryption, SFTP, web services, certificates, and least-privilege access.
- Create and maintain integration designs, mapping specifications, runbooks, support procedures, test evidence, issue logs, release notes, and knowledge base content.
- Support Workday release readiness through release-note assessment, regression testing, integration validation, defect resolution, and outcome documentation.
- Participate in change, incident, problem, audit, privacy, and production deployment activities in accordance with organizational governance and operational standards.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience developing, enhancing, testing, deploying, and supporting Workday integrations in a production HR technology environment.
- Practical experience with EIB, Core Connectors, Workday Studio, RaaS, custom reports, calculated fields, Document Transformation, and Workday Web Services.
- Strong understanding of XML, XSLT, XPath, SOAP, REST, JSON, SFTP, PGP encryption, authentication, certificates, scheduling, logging, transformation logic, and error handling.
- Experience translating business requirements into technical integration specifications, data mappings, transformation rules, test cases, deployment steps, and operational support guidance.
- Experience with Workday HCM areas such as Core HCM, Time Tracking, Absence, Benefits, Recruiting, Learning, Workday Scheduling, payroll processes, or Workforce Management.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot production issues by reviewing integration events, analyzing logs, validating source and target data, identifying root causes, and implementing sustainable fixes.
- Understanding of Workday security concepts, including integration system users, security groups, domain security policies, business process security, and role-based access controls.
- Experience with formal IT practices covering incident, change, release, testing, audit support, and operational documentation.
- Strong documentation, communication, analytical, problem-solving, prioritization, and attention-to-detail skills, with a focus on data quality, privacy, compliance, operational stability, and secure handling of employee information.
- Experience in a large Canadian enterprise, retail, distribution-centre, hourly-workforce, or multi-banner environment is an asset.
- Knowledge of Dayforce is preferred but not mandatory.
- Workday Pro Orchestration Developer, Workday Pro Studio, or another relevant technical certification is an asset.
