Responsibilities
- Own components responsible for ingesting, processing, storing, and moving large-scale audit and telemetry data.
- Design and implement resilient distributed-system solutions across multiple regions and cloud environments.
- Improve service reliability through automation, observability, and reduction of operational toil.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response, including root-cause analysis and durable corrective actions.
- Collaborate on platform modernization, compliance, governance, and scalability initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 2 years of professional software engineering experience using C#, Java, Python, or C++.
- Experience designing, developing, and debugging backend services, distributed systems, or large-scale data processing solutions.
- Experience with cloud platforms, source control, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to investigate production issues, analyze root causes, and implement durable solutions.
- Experience building highly available and scalable cloud services on Azure or similar platforms.
- Experience with distributed data stores, messaging systems, stream processing, or large-scale data pipelines.
- Familiarity with observability, telemetry, monitoring, incident response, and on-call practices.
- Experience improving service reliability, performance, security, and operational efficiency.
- Knowledge of compliance, security, governance, or audit-related systems.
- Ability to meet Microsoft and applicable customer or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check.
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
