Base Salary
$180k - $275k/yr
Responsibilities
- Define and evolve data contract standards across the company.
- Design interoperable ingestion and publishing frameworks for upstream producers.
- Build and standardize APIs, libraries, or SDKs for event logging and schema validation.
- Establish best practices for schema registry usage and validation across systems.
- Design clear patterns for data lake and warehouse usage.
- Lead reverse ETL and activation architecture for operational use cases.
- Define and enforce access control and compliance standards.
- Partner with various teams to align on standards and long-term direction.
- Mentor engineers and influence engineering culture around data quality.
- Drive adoption of AI-assisted development practices.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering or platform development.
- Experience designing data contracts and schema governance at scale.
- Strong expertise in Python and SQL with hands-on experience in scalable data frameworks.
- Experience with distributed data systems like Spark and modern lakehouse architectures.
- Familiarity with data warehouses such as Snowflake and performance/access patterns.
- Experience building APIs or platform services adopted by multiple teams.
- Strong understanding of access control and compliance in regulated environments.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional architectural initiatives.
- Clear communication skills and a track record of influencing standards.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools or cloud-based coding environments.
