Backend Engineer, Flag Delivery

Responsibilities
- Build, ship, and operate features and services in Flag Delivery’s streaming and polling infrastructure.
- Own well-scoped projects through design, implementation, rollout, and production operations.
- Investigate and resolve production issues while participating in the supported on-call rotation.
- Write maintainable, well-tested code and participate in code and design reviews.
- Improve observability and reliability for owned systems.
- Collaborate with SDK Engineering, Data Platform, and product-engineering teams.
- Develop expertise in distributed systems and production operations with mentorship from senior engineers.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional software-engineering experience building production services.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language such as Go, Rust, Python, or Java.
- Familiarity with AWS or an equivalent cloud platform.
- Solid fundamentals in data structures, concurrency, API design, and testing.
- Experience debugging production problems and willingness to participate in an on-call rotation.
- Working familiarity with observability tooling and dashboards, logs, and traces.
- Ability to break down ambiguous tasks, ask questions, and drive work to completion.
- Clear written and verbal communication and willingness to learn from feedback.
