Responsibilities
- Design, implement, maintain, and govern enterprise CMDB solutions following ServiceNow best practices.
- Develop and configure ServiceNow Discovery and Service Mapping for business-critical applications and infrastructure.
- Implement CSDM-aligned CMDB architecture, governance standards, identification rules, and reconciliation rules.
- Monitor and improve CMDB Health, including completeness, correctness, and compliance metrics.
- Configure Discovery schedules, credentials, probes, sensors, and pattern-based discovery solutions.
- Create, maintain, and optimize Service Maps for distributed, hybrid, and multi-tier applications.
- Troubleshoot Discovery failures, identification issues, duplicate CIs, and Service Mapping problems.
- Build and maintain integrations using REST APIs, Integration Hub, and MID Servers to enrich CMDB data.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure, Cloud, Network, Security, and Application teams to improve CMDB data quality.
- Ensure adherence to ServiceNow development standards, governance, and security best practices.
- Lead technical discussions and design reviews, recommend scalable ITOM solutions, and mentor junior developers.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of overall IT experience.
- Strong experience with CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, CSDM, CMDB Governance, and the Identification & Reconciliation Engine.
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and maintaining enterprise CMDB solutions.
- Experience with CMDB Health, CI relationships, data certification, duplicate CI remediation, Discovery configuration, and pattern-based Discovery.
- Strong ServiceNow development experience with JavaScript, Glide APIs, Business Rules, Client Scripts, Script Includes, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, Update Sets, and Scoped Applications.
- Experience integrating CMDB with SCCM/MECM, VMware vCenter, Azure, AWS, GCP, Active Directory/Entra ID, and monitoring tools.
- Strong experience with REST and SOAP API integrations.
- Understanding of ITOM processes, enterprise infrastructure, networking, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- ServiceNow Certified System Administrator certification is mandatory.
- CIS Discovery and CIS Service Mapping certifications are preferred.
