Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and deploy microservices using Java and Spring Boot.
- Implement real-time event streaming solutions with Apache Kafka, including data transformation, enrichment, and change-detection event publishing.
- Integrate and optimize data persistence in MySQL.
- Deploy and manage applications on Microsoft Azure PaaS.
- Build fault-tolerant, scalable, and highly available streaming applications.
- Configure retry mechanisms, dead-letter topics, and idempotent processing.
- Write unit, integration, and performance tests.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines.
- Refactor legacy mainframe code to support modern cloud and mobile applications.
- Guide an offshore team over time.
Requirements
- Specialist knowledge and experience in Java, Spring Boot, Apache Kafka, MySQL, and cloud application development are required.
- Experience designing scalable, fault-tolerant, and highly available streaming applications is required.
- Ability to implement event-driven processing, data transformation, persistence optimization, and automated testing is required.
- Leadership skills and the ability to guide an offshore team are required.
- Experience with mainframe modernization and legacy code refactoring is relevant to the role.
