Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend microservices using Spring Boot and Spring Framework for retail banking functionality.
- Develop Python services, automation utilities, and data-processing components for banking workflows.
- Create, optimize, and maintain SQL queries, stored procedures, and data access layers for financial transaction processing.
- Integrate services with relational databases and internal banking platforms while maintaining data consistency, auditability, and regulatory adherence.
- Translate retail banking requirements into technical solutions and implementation plans with product owners, architects, and engineers.
- Apply secure coding practices for authentication, authorization, input validation, encryption, and data protection.
- Perform unit, integration, and regression testing and participate in code reviews and technical discussions.
- Tune microservice and database performance to improve response times, throughput, scalability, and stability.
- Document APIs, data models, and service interactions for integration and support.
- Collaborate with site reliability and operations teams on deployment pipelines, configuration management, and monitoring.
- Troubleshoot production incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement permanent fixes.
- Suggest improvements to tooling, development practices, and platform architecture.
Requirements
- Six to ten years of professional backend software engineering experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring Framework in enterprise environments.
- Advanced Python proficiency for services, automation scripts, and data processing.
- Strong SQL skills, including query optimization, indexing strategies, and transaction management.
- Experience designing, developing, and deploying scalable and fault-tolerant microservices.
- Experience with retail banking processes such as accounts, payments, loans, and customer servicing.
- Practical experience with agile delivery practices and frequent production releases in a regulated industry.
- Understanding of secure software development, including input validation, encryption, and access control models.
- Familiarity with version control systems, build tools, and continuous integration pipelines.
- Ability to collaborate with business analysts, testers, operations personnel, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and maintainability-focused engineering skills.
- Willingness to learn new frameworks, tools, and banking domain concepts.
