Base Salary

$144k - $194k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and operate production platform services for PIXIE’s agentic AI system.
  • Develop agent runtime, caching and cost-latency optimization, observability, and evaluation infrastructure.
  • Build and maintain a dynamic tool and agent registry that supports capability discovery without redeployment.
  • Create automated evaluation and regression harnesses for non-deterministic LLM outputs, including hallucination detection, drift monitoring, and faithfulness scoring.
  • Implement authorization-aware retrieval so users only access content they are entitled to view.
  • Collaborate with scientists on grounding methodology, causal analytics productionization, and retrieval-quality optimization.
  • Participate in on-call rotation, maintain runbooks and operational dashboards, and improve system reliability.
  • Mentor teammates on system design, code quality, and operational practices.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • At least 2 years of non-internship experience designing or architecting new and existing systems for reliability and scaling.
  • At least 1 year of software development engineer or related occupational experience.
  • At least 1 year designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded, or distributed software applications, tools, systems, or services using C#, C++, Java, or Perl.
  • At least 1 year of object-oriented design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
  • Preferred: 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent.
