Responsibilities

Help build and architect systems for the mission-critical observability platform.
Design and implement observability improvements for diagnosing production issues.
Handle production customer escalations and coach teammates.
Write production-ready database code and mentor the team.
Own areas of code for quality assurance in observability.
Diagnose test failures and fix bugs in existing code.
Investigate performance impacts of code changes.
Interview candidates for advanced software engineering positions.
Develop and maintain expertise on database and observability developments.
Lead development and project management of larger projects.
Collaborate with stakeholders on large initiatives.
Advise Product Management on technical product direction.
Define product roadmaps with Product Management and Engineering leadership.
Champion and improve unit and integration tests.
Work with customers and support engineers to fix issues.

Minimum 10 years of experience in designing and programming distributed systems.
Experience with latency sensitive, high throughput systems.
Strong systems fundamentals including multi-threaded programming.
Familiarity with database internals or core components for data processing.
Familiarity with observability ecosystem and best practices.
Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills.
Strong time and project management skills.
Good understanding of information security management.
