General Dynamics Mission SystemsResponsibilities
- Assist with the design, analysis, and implementation of software features for system requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and document software using C++, C, Java, and Python.
- Support integration with third-party equipment and internal systems by analyzing interface specifications.
- Participate in unit, integration, verification, integration, and qualification testing and document results.
- Prepare requirements, design notes, test plans, technical reports, and other documentation.
- Investigate system problem reports, support root cause analysis, and assist with resolving software issues.
- Maintain the codebase according to coding standards and configuration management practices.
- Collaborate with team members and present work during design and peer reviews.
- Support internal customers and software integration activities.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical or scientific field.
- Understanding of software engineering principles and the software development lifecycle.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Willingness to learn under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Programming or scripting experience with C++, C, Java, or Python is preferred.
- Exposure to object-oriented programming, test-driven development, software testing, verification, validation, technical documentation, configuration management, or version control is preferred.
- Experience or familiarity with Git, third-party equipment integration, system interfaces, or AI/ML models is preferred.
- Must be enrolled at a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution and eligible for the specified co-op work term.
- Must be eligible to work in Canada and able to obtain and maintain applicable Canadian government security clearances.
