Responsibilities
- Design and develop OData V2/V4 services using SAP Gateway and RAP.
- Build reusable, scalable APIs following API-first and clean-core principles.
- Develop integration artifacts connecting SAP with middleware and enterprise platforms such as MuleSoft and SAP Integration Suite.
- Create optimized ABAP on HANA solutions using CDS Views, AMDP, ABAP OO, and HANA pushdown techniques.
- Build and enhance RAP-based business objects and services.
- Work with BADIs, User Exits, BAPIs, RFCs, and custom frameworks.
- Support SAP CAP-based side-by-side extensions and cloud-native services on SAP BTP.
- Translate business requirements into scalable API and integration architectures and define CDS data models with annotations.
- Perform unit testing, integration testing, API validation, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
- Collaborate with functional teams, architects, middleware teams, external vendors, and distributed cross-functional teams.
- Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and platform governance.
Requirements
- 4–6 years of SAP ABAP development experience, including S/4HANA exposure.
- The role summary requests 6–8 years of experience and immediate or short-notice availability.
- Strong expertise in ABAP on HANA, CDS Views, AMDP, performance optimization, SAP Gateway, OData services, and RAP.
- Understanding of REST, JSON, OAuth, API design, API lifecycle management, and real-time, batch, and event-driven integration patterns.
- Experience with enhancements, BADIs, Exits, BAPIs, RFCs, and end-to-end API development and consumption.
- Strong debugging, performance tuning, troubleshooting, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments.
- Preferred exposure to SAP CRM, SAP CAP with Node.js or Java, SAP BTP Integration Suite, Cloud Integration, API Management, Event Mesh, Fiori/UI5, event-driven architecture, messaging systems, SAP Clean Core, extensibility models, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based version control.
- Domain exposure in Order-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, or Finance integrations is preferred.
