Base Salary

$225k - $320k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and deployment of customer-facing AI features across Peregrine’s platform.
  • Translate operational problems into deployable AI-powered solutions and integrate AI into core workflows.
  • Guide fine-tuning strategies and reinforcement learning while selecting among classical ML, deep learning, and LLM-based approaches.
  • Shape training and inference pipelines, model serving, versioning, rollback, and integration with real-time and batch data systems.
  • Ensure deployed models are observable, scalable, secure, cost-effective, and compliant with enterprise and government requirements.
  • Define evaluation frameworks and quality standards, and own monitoring, drift detection, experimentation, and failure analysis.
  • Build and lead the Applied AI/ML team and set technical direction and strategy for applied AI across Peregrine.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated experience shipping AI-powered features into production, ideally in enterprise or mission-critical environments.
  • Hands-on experience with model fine-tuning for LLMs or deep learning models.
  • Practical exposure to reinforcement learning.
  • Experience designing and operating AI/ML infrastructure.
  • Direct ownership of model evaluation, experimentation, and quality measurement.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals as a lead.
  • Experience with large-scale or real-time data platforms is a strong plus.
  • Experience in public sector, security, healthcare, finance, or other domains where trust, explainability, and reliability matter is a strong plus.
  • Previous software engineering team leadership experience is a strong plus.
