Responsibilities
- Build and maintain large-scale distributed backend systems and microservices.
- Plan and deliver features end to end, from technical design through implementation and maintenance.
- Work with continuous delivery, infrastructure as code, testing, instrumentation, documentation, and code reviews.
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and partner Engineering teams to build new experiences.
- Participate in pairing, on-call rotations, and incident response.
- Contribute to mobile and frontend development when business needs require it.
- Reason about data manipulation, data processing at scale, transactional and analytical environments, and downstream data impacts.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience developing digital products.
- Ability to translate technical and business requirements into technical designs and implementations.
- Understanding of object-oriented or functional programming languages.
- Experience collaborating on microservices and familiarity with distributed systems and cloud technologies.
- Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies and previous CI/CD experience.
- Ability to reason about backend systems' effects on downstream data products.
- Effective cross-functional communication, problem-solving ability, curiosity, and willingness to develop breadth beyond a primary specialty.
- Advanced English skills.
