Senior Software Engineer, Localization Platform (Backend focused)
GetYourGuideResponsibilities
- Work in a cross-functional mission team with engineers, product, and data specialists
- Continuously improve the codebase, systems, and processes
- Design and develop efficient solutions that scale
- Design, launch, and iterate on experiments, internal solutions, and user capabilities
- Build tools, pipelines, infrastructure, and frameworks supporting localization and international market launches
- Provide technical leadership and collaborate with stakeholders and teams across the organization
Requirements
- 6+ years of software development experience
- High proficiency in Java and Spring Boot
- Experience designing the architecture and deployment of web applications and services
- Experience with distributed systems and asynchronous messaging
- Experience operating at scale with cloud infrastructure and a DevOps mindset
- Experience with stakeholder management, technical leadership, and cross-team collaboration
- Hands-on experience leveraging and experimenting with AI
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
- Experience with internal SDKs, libraries, API documentation, or developer tooling is advantageous
- Experience with localization platforms and tools is advantageous
- Experience with GraphQL ecosystems is advantageous
- Experience with SLO/SLA management and platform reliability is advantageous
- Experience with security and scalability of asynchronous flows is advantageous
- Experience migrating monolithic applications to service-oriented architecture is advantageous
- Prior e-commerce or startup experience is advantageous
