Base Salary
$120k - $195k/yr
Responsibilities
- Write functional, design, and test specifications for packet forwarding engine features and system software.
- Implement and debug packet forwarding engine and hardware-management software using C, C++, and Python.
- Develop and monitor automated tests, investigate failures, and fix issues found during testing.
- Collaborate with hardware, diagnostic software, system test, and component vendor teams to bring up and validate new systems and ASICs.
- Analyze customer network problems with Customer Support Engineers and deliver fixes through software releases or patches.
- Mentor junior engineers, review team specifications and implementations, and help maintain implementation and debugging schedules.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Engineering plus 8 years of experience; alternatively, a master’s degree plus 6 years, a Ph.D. plus 3 years, or equivalent work experience.
- Experience with C or C++.
- Knowledge of UNIX or Linux.
- Understanding of IP networking or distributed systems.
- Applied understanding of software engineering principles and strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to independently design and implement solutions to small problems and contribute to medium-sized team projects with limited oversight.
Benefits
- Base pay range of $120,000 to $195,000 across Canada, with actual pay determined by location, qualifications, skills, and experience.
