Base Salary
$170k - $255k/yr
Responsibilities
- Architect and build features for an internal compliance platform-as-a-service integrated with existing systems.
- Build anonymization, de-identification, and pseudonymization pipelines for customer PII and PHI while preserving usability for AI workflows.
- Implement comprehensive audit trails for access to customer files.
- Track and enforce BAAs, customer contracts, data opt-in and opt-out, data residency, and geographic compliance requirements.
- Design access controls with approval enforcement and reporting on access, purpose, and authorization.
- Build notification and remediation workflows for compliance issues.
- Partner with DevOps, engineering teams, and the Office of the CTO.
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend engineering experience, including significant work on data-sensitive systems.
- Prior experience building a compliance, privacy, or data-governance platform.
- Deep practical knowledge of HIPAA and safe handling of PHI and PII.
- Experience with agentic AI development or platforms consumed by AI systems.
- Familiarity with SOC 2, HITRUST, or similar frameworks.
- Strong experience with cloud data infrastructure, S3, relational databases, and the AWS ecosystem.
- Experience with authentication, authorization, least privilege, and audit logging.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in legal, healthcare, or another regulated industry is preferred.
