Responsibilities
- Enhance whole-home connectivity for eero products.
- Resolve difficult-to-reproduce customer connectivity issues and provide comprehensive networking solutions.
- Optimize networking subsystems in OS kernels for improved WiFi performance and stability.
- Implement protocols for efficient mesh network management.
- Improve integration of wireless drivers, firmware, hostap, and applications.
- Lead enhancements to testing procedures and tooling.
- Collaborate with OS, mobile, and cloud teams to deliver features.
- Split time approximately evenly between customer issue management and feature development.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience with computer science fundamentals, including object-oriented design, data structures, algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis.
- At least 3 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Programming experience in at least one software programming language.
- Proven WiFi software development experience, particularly with 802.11 protocols.
- Familiarity with 802.11, 802.3, DHCP, IPv4, IPv6, Linux bridge, and network stack internals.
- Preferred: a master’s degree or equivalent.
- Preferred: programming experience with a modern language such as Go, Rust, or C++, including object-oriented design.
- Ability to work independently and effectively with a dynamic team and vendors.
