Responsibilities
- Own and deliver quarterly team goals while leading engineers through ambiguous, open-ended problems.
- Collaborate with product management, design, analytics, and stakeholders throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Identify and lead resolution of project, process, technology, and business issues.
- Support operations and availability through metrics, escalation, keep-the-lights-on work, and on-call efforts.
- Set and improve code review and design standards and advocate for quality through writing and technical talks.
- Develop team talent through feedback, guidance, and leading by example.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale.
- Experience developing highly available distributed systems using AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes.
- Experience building and managing workflow orchestration frameworks such as Airflow, Flyte, Prefect, Temporal, or Luigi.
- Experience scaling Spark or Flink frameworks for extremely large datasets on Kubernetes.
- Ability to define technical plans and deliver significant features or system components with simple, extensible designs.
- Ability to make significant changes safely in large codebases and develop supporting tools and practices.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration with a global engineering team.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
