Base Salary

$168k - $227k/yr

Responsibilities

  • Lead major deliverables from ambiguous requirements and architecture through security reviews, implementation, launch, and production operation.
  • Embed with partner teams including Amazon Inspector, Amazon Security Hub, and AWS Config to deliver critical-path work and hand over documented, tested, operationally ready systems.
  • Own operational excellence for Amazon Security Lake by resolving high-severity issues, hardening APIs and canaries, reducing recurring alarms, and maintaining service health.
  • Set technical direction, reduce architectural debt, promote reuse, and establish durable engineering practices.
  • Drive cross-team decisions, build stakeholder consensus, and unblock launches.
  • Mentor engineers through code and design reviews, onboarding, and technical feedback.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and own customer issues through resolution.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • At least 5 years of programming experience with one or more software programming languages.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading the design or architecture of new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
  • Experience mentoring engineers, serving as a tech lead, or leading an engineering team.
  • Preferred: at least 5 years of full software development lifecycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Preferred: bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
  • Preferred: at least 5 years of experience with highly scalable systems.
  • Preferred: knowledge of system performance, memory management, parallel computing, machine learning, and LLM fundamentals.
