Responsibilities
- Build scalable and performant software using software-engineering best practices.
- Facilitate discussions about code implementation, testing, and software architecture.
- Collaborate with operations and trading teams to keep production systems in optimal condition.
- Research technologies that can enhance trading systems.
- Drive projects and lead new initiatives.
- Resolve challenging design and coding issues with the development team.
- Work with complex real-time market data while ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
- Explain technical challenges, trade-offs, and potential solutions to traders and other stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
- 2 to 10 years of experience building software systems.
- Solid understanding of software-engineering principles and best practices.
- Strong knowledge and experience in Python or C++; experience with both is an asset.
- Passion for financial markets and interest in global events and their influence on market behavior.
- Exceptional attention to detail and focus on data quality and correctness.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for explaining technical concepts and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with Redis, RabbitMQ, GraphQL, Kafka, MongoDB, ELK, Docker, TCP, HTTP, or Regex is an asset.
- Experience with relational databases is an asset.
