Base Salary

Responsibilities
- Design application architecture across distributed and enterprise platforms using event-driven architecture, publish/subscribe messaging, microservices, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
- Define and enforce architectural standards, patterns, best practices, and non-functional requirements across engineering teams.
- Design streaming, batch, message-based, and data integration systems for reliable real-time and scheduled data flow.
- Own solution architecture from ideation through implementation, including architectural decisions, requirements, and system diagrams.
- Guide development and deployment of resilient, scalable, cost-efficient, cloud-native services and Kubernetes deployment topologies.
- Define identity, access management, schema, serialization, data lakehouse, disaster recovery, and cross-region or on-premises failover strategies.
- Review engineering designs and code for architectural, security, regulatory, and compliance alignment.
- Troubleshoot complex issues spanning application, infrastructure, messaging, and data layers.
- Translate business requirements and complex architectural trade-offs into actionable technical solutions and stakeholder guidance.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, recommend adoption, and mentor engineering teams on architecture and distributed-systems practices.
Requirements
- BS degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated experience with event-driven or message-based systems, transaction processing systems, or distributed and parallel computing.
- Experience designing large-scale distributed application architectures, including microservices and streaming or batch-based applications.
- Experience integrating disparate technologies, platforms, and data sources and defining architecture strategies across enterprise architecture domains.
- Experience defining non-functional requirements for performance, scalability, availability, security, and related qualities.
- Software development experience in Java, Python, or C# for high-throughput, low-latency, data-intensive, or transaction-oriented systems.
- Strong knowledge of Kafka or comparable messaging and streaming systems, including topic design, partitioning, and producer/consumer patterns.
- Knowledge of OAuth2/OIDC, JWT validation, identity providers such as ForgeRock and SailPoint, schema management, Protocol Buffers, and Apache Iceberg.
- Familiarity with Terraform and working knowledge of Git, Jenkins, Docker, Artifactory, ArgoCD, AWS, PaaS, and Kubernetes.
- Preferred: 6+ years of work experience in the capital markets industry.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, ownership, motivation, and ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
