Responsibilities
- Take ideas from initial hypothesis through deciding what to build, cutting scope, shipping, and evaluating whether to continue.
- Read and modify unfamiliar codebases independently.
- Write and maintain tests that remain reliable in CI environments.
- Publish and version software others depend on, such as a CLI, SDK, or package.
- Debug issues across third-party APIs, external services, and CI runners.
- Follow department-wide and organization-wide security policies and apply a security-first approach to product and service development.
Requirements
- Deep fluency in at least one modern general-purpose programming language and the ability to learn additional languages quickly.
- Ability to work across TypeScript/Node, Go, and Python and become comfortable using more than one.
- Strong understanding of a language’s type system, concurrency model, and testing practices.
- Ability to work independently in unfamiliar codebases.
- Experience writing and maintaining tests suitable for CI.
- Ability to publish and version software used by others, such as a CLI, SDK, or package.
- Ability to debug across boundaries involving third-party APIs, other services, or CI runners.
