Base Salary
$178k - $210k/yr
Responsibilities
- Own the company’s security strategy, roadmap, security posture, and security program direction.
- Lead threat modeling, secure code reviews, architecture reviews, secure coding standards, and vulnerability management processes.
- Build and maintain security tooling, automation, and infrastructure as code, and implement controls across application, API, and infrastructure layers.
- Partner with engineers on authentication, authorization, data protection, cloud security, IAM, networking, secrets, logging, and monitoring.
- Own vulnerability scanning, patching, incident response, and security gates integrated into development workflows.
- Partner with Engineering, Product, IT, and Legal to embed security practices, develop policies, manage risk, and support compliance efforts.
- Serve as an internal security expert and translate security concepts into actionable guidance.
Requirements
- 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience.
- Strong application security experience, including threat modeling, code review, and SDLC integration.
- Experience securing cloud environments using AWS, GCP, or Azure, including IAM and networking.
- Ability to operate strategically and tactically while remaining hands-on with implementation.
- Strong communication skills for explaining security concepts and guidance clearly.
- Preferred experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, SAST, DAST, SCA, SIEM, vulnerability management, and security programs in startup or high-growth environments.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CSSLP, or OSCP are preferred but not required.
