Responsibilities
- Design, implement, enhance, and operate Kubernetes-based platforms for production-critical workloads.
- Operate and develop cloud and on-premise infrastructure, including cloudnative-pg, S3-compatible storage, and Ceph.
- Ensure stable, scalable, and secure platform operations throughout the full lifecycle.
- Automate infrastructure, deployments, and operational processes using DevOps and GitOps principles.
- Establish and operate observability for metrics, logs, and traces using the Grafana stack and Vector.
- Implement secure software supply chains and platform security through image scanning, policies, service mesh, supply chain security, runtime security, and mTLS.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code and automation using Terraform/OpenTofu, Terragrunt, Ansible, Helm, Kubernetes Operators, GitLab CI, Cilium, Envoy, Linkerd, cert-manager, Trivy, and Syft.
Requirements
- Completed IT-related vocational training or degree, or several years of practically acquired equivalent qualification.
- Several years of experience building and operating Kubernetes platforms in production environments.
- Solid programming skills, for example in Go or Python, for automation and operations tools.
- Ability to apply software engineering concepts such as modularization, layered abstractions, quality gates, and testing to Infrastructure as Code.
- Practical experience building and operating modern CI/CD pipelines, such as GitLab CI, and ideally GitOps approaches.
- Structured, team-oriented working style and interest in continuous improvement.
- German communication skills of at least B2 level under the CEFR and English proficiency.
