Base Salary
$179k - $246k/yr
Responsibilities
- Lead a portfolio of diverse technology projects and a team of developers building distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions.
- Use programming languages, databases, container orchestration services, and AWS tools to develop solutions.
- Provide technical leadership across engineering teams and set standards for design, development, and operational excellence.
- Partner with architects to define service boundaries, integration patterns, and reusable frameworks.
- Identify improvement opportunities, implement refactoring, reduce technical debt, and improve system performance.
- Mentor engineers and contribute to professional development within technical teams.
- Influence long-term technology strategy through evaluation of emerging tools and practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative field.
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience; internship experience does not apply.
- At least 2 years of experience with public cloud platforms, cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.
- Preferred: master's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Preferred: 7+ years coding with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, and Scala.
- Preferred: experience with databases, cloud technologies, open source frameworks, front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks, APIs, automated testing frameworks, Git-based version control, and cloud troubleshooting.
- Preferred: experience with infrastructure as code, observability, modern AI-based coding tools, interactive AI tooling, and IDE copilots.
- Preferred: experience mentoring engineers, leading cross-functional engineering efforts, establishing coding standards, and enforcing design patterns across teams.
