Base Salary
$65k - $173k/yr
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable microservices architectures, APIs, domain-driven services, and event-driven systems.
- Develop and maintain backend services and distributed systems focused on scalability, resiliency, fault tolerance, and performance.
- Build and enhance data pipelines and platforms supporting real-time and batch processing.
- Develop intelligent search, recommendations, personalization, and other AI-driven decision-support capabilities.
- Develop and optimize search systems using ElasticSearch, OpenSearch, Solr, or Lucene.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, automated testing, monitoring, logging, and observability.
- Participate in design discussions, code reviews, technical strategy development, and production support.
- Collaborate with product managers, architects, senior engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver modular solutions.
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve system performance, stability, quality, and reliability.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of software engineering experience covering design, development, testing, and deployment.
- At least 3 years of experience building cloud-native applications using GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Strong programming skills in Java, Python, Kotlin, or Go, focused on backend and API development.
- At least 2 years of experience designing and developing microservices, including API design and event-driven patterns.
- Experience with AI development tools such as Claude, Cursor, OpenCode, or Codex.
- Experience building distributed systems with knowledge of scalability, resiliency, and fault tolerance.
- Experience with ElasticSearch, OpenSearch, Solr, or Lucene.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, Docker, and Kubernetes.
- Experience with observability and monitoring tools, including Splunk, for logging, alerting, and production support.
- Experience working in highly cross-functional and collaborative environments.
- Preferred experience with personalization, recommendations, analytics platforms, machine learning concepts, statistical methods, or search relevance techniques.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, including a high school diploma plus four years of relevant experience.
- Strong communication and cross-team collaboration skills.
