Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, integration, standardization, verification, validation, and deployment of AI/ML solutions for healthcare applications.
- Serve as the primary technical contact for released products by verifying features, triaging user-reported issues, and shaping future requirements.
- Develop evaluation methodologies, performance metrics, usability assessments, risk management files, and verification/validation strategies for digital health products.
- Design, test, and maintain tools and CI/CD pipelines that automate AI software development and releases.
- Collaborate with clinicians, UX designers, product managers, IT professionals, and external partners to translate clinical workflows and user needs into AI product requirements.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, consultation, and training to engineers, clinical teams, healthcare staff, and AI product teams.
- Apply AI/ML methods including deep learning, natural language processing, computer vision, and large language models to healthcare data and workflows.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, health science, or a related field with four years of experience, or bachelor’s degree with six years of experience.
- Extensive experience applying AI and machine learning in production healthcare environments or similar regulated or technology-focused industries.
- Demonstrated leadership managing complex projects and leading technical or quantitative teams in regulated environments.
- Expertise in AI/ML techniques and frameworks, including deep learning, natural language processing, and Generative AI.
- Proficiency with Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and Keras is preferred.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, software development tools, large heterogeneous datasets, data engineering, data science, AI engineering, and MLOps practices.
- Knowledge of healthcare workflows, electronic health records, medical terminologies, regulatory requirements, industry standards, quality engineering, and compliance frameworks.
- Experience with risk management files, verification and validation strategies, user-centered design, human factors engineering, usability testing, and expert usability reviews.
- Strong communication, collaboration, interpersonal, time management, technical reporting, mentoring, and training abilities.
- A Ph.D. or other doctorate is preferred.
