Responsibilities
- Develop tooling and reference architectures across Platform, Data, AI, and Agents, including agentic workflow blueprints, LLM integration patterns, and multi-model orchestration topologies.
- Explore emerging AI and agent technologies including neuro-symbolic AI, knowledge graphs, MCP, agent orchestration, RAG, GraphRAG, agentic memory architectures, agent harness engineering, multi-agent systems, frontier model evaluation, inference optimization, and responsible AI guardrails.
- Prototype and build proof points that influence company-wide strategic decisions.
- Contribute to research, concept notes, technical investigations, and technology strategy documents.
- Perform technology due diligence for buy and partner decisions by evaluating external products, vendors, and technology partners.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives including All in on AI, AI Native North Star Architecture, CTO Circle, and the SAP Architecture Center.
- Support executive board, CTO, and CEO projects by driving cross-organizational technical alignment and influencing technology strategy.
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development and architecture design.
- Strong experience in one or more of GenAI/LLM application development, agentic systems, AI/ML engineering, data and analytics, or cloud-native architecture.
- Hands-on development experience with SAP Business Technology Platform, including SAP AI Core, SAP Business Data Cloud, or SAP Joule.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Node.js, or Python, with working knowledge of LLM SDKs such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Semantic Kernel.
- Familiarity with vector databases such as HANA Cloud Vector Engine, Pinecone, or Weaviate.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle practices, GitHub, CI/CD, tests, and LLMOps practices such as prompt versioning, evaluation pipelines, and model observability.
- Familiarity with AI safety, output grounding, and hallucination mitigation strategies in production settings.
- Experience with hyperscalers such as Azure, GCP, or AWS and technology partners is a plus.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, collaboration abilities, continuous-learning orientation, and comfort working in ambiguous environments.
